Chinese and Swedish Governments Join Hands for 4G Technologies

According to a recently report by Sina.com, China's MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology) and the Swedish government have signed an agreement in June, 2007, whereby both governments will each initially invest 30 million RMB (US$ 3.95 million; US$1 = 7.6 RMB) into the R&D of 4G technologies. Official implementation of this project is scheduled for January 1, 2008, with the first phase expected to last for three years. Participates of the project currently include Huawei, Datang, the FuTURE Forum, and the Shanghai Research Center for Wireless Communication.
